Welcome
Christ’s Ambassadors of the Gospel
As Christ’s ambassadors of the Gospel, ministry is often on the front lines of spiritual battles. While the Holy Spirit fills us up and supplies us, one of the means He uses is the intentional support of other brothers-in-arms.
Whether buried in the bureaucracy of larger denominations or floating untethered in non-denominational independence, Sola Union exists to bridge that gap: to offer personal connection for elders and their churches, rooted in the Reformed tradition, united by mission, and joined in the mutual encouragement of the Gospel.
Our motto, “Gospel clarity & Reformed catholicity*,” expresses our desire to keep the Five Solas of the Biblical Gospel front and centre, while allowing for a diversity of views under the broad banner of Reformed Christianity. The Reformed Church in the West would benefit from concrete examples of churches with different distinctives officially linking arms for the furtherance of the Gospel. With the forces of darkness arrayed against us, and so much in-fighting amongst us, it is what the times require (1 Chronicles 12:32).
*The word “catholic” comes from the Greek word “katholikos,” which is a combination of "kata" (concerning) and "holos" (whole), signifying "universal" or “general.” The word does not refer to the Roman Catholic Church, but to the whole Church - all saints everywhere throughout all time.
